Freedom of Strangers

I wanted to understand more about where I live. I decided to record the people who walked past my flat on a residential street, unaware of my presence.

I would conceal myself with my camera; crouching underneath the window or stand part-obscured by the net curtain. Along with the photographs, I recorded my first impressions of each person and listened to conversations on the street. I did this over the course of two years and then produced the resulting works.
